Tactile Sensory Snake

A world of tactile textures to explore

Meet the Tactile Sensory Snake, a tactile play companion for curious hands and imaginative minds. Made up of six fabric squares with varied textures and fillings, it invites children to touch, compare and discover something different along its length.

Lay it out for a tactile sensory exploration activity, introduce it as a character at storytime or bring children together for a shared game. At 1.2 metres long and approximately 2 kg, it offers plenty to explore at home, in the classroom or in a sensory space.

Six sections, different tactile experiences

A variety of fabrics and fillings, including stones, cherry stones, polystyrene and buttons, creates contrasting sensations to investigate through the fabric. Encourage children to describe what they feel, compare sections and choose their favourite textures.

Made for shared discovery

Four loops, two at each end, offer handholds for supervised group activities. Use the snake to introduce turn-taking, shared handling and collaborative games, adapting each activity to the children taking part.

Bring stories to life

Give your snake a name, invent a woodland adventure or make it a cosy pretend bed. From caring for a make-believe pet to creating stories together, this versatile character leaves room for children to lead the play.
